Landshark Stadium Opener Features Buffett Concert
The Miami Dolphins hosted the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night for the home opener at Landshark Stadium. Before the game, Jimmy Buffett performed for a few thousands fans outside of the gates. Jimmy Buffett did a pre-game music set outside the stadium that attracted the Estefans, Williams, rapper T-Pain and race car driver Helio Castroneves.
Buffett got the tailgaters in the mood with his concert on the promenade, fans coming right up to the stage to wave their aqua foam fins to the left and to the right. “It’s almost game time. Let’s send ‘em in in the right mood,” he told a crowd of some 3,000 or more. The Jaws theme started and then he broke into Fins, which he has remixed into a Dolphins theme song, this time slipping in, “We’re going to dine on horse meat tonight,” a warning to the Indianapolis Colts. [Dolphins owner Stephen] Ross came on stage at the end of the concert and toasted the crowd – with a LandShark Lager...
you for an excellent performance at our festival! You put
on a great show and I hope you had fun playing for us. You
happen to be one of my favorites of the weekend and I always
look forward to seeing you guys. Love the new songs and
new stage attire! Hope to have you back in 2011.

Singer Jimmy Stowe helps Boca send attendees on a ‘free island vacation’ without leaving home

Back by popular demand, Jimmy Stowe and the Stowaways performed at Center for the Arts at Mizner Park Friday night as part of Boca Raton’s Summer in the City series. In a time of recession and choosing wisely where to spend your money Boca Raton gives back to the community by presenting free concerts.
Stowe and his band are a community favorite and I can see why. They are known for playing Jimmy Buffett songs and lots of people will claim Jimmy Stowe sounds even better than Buffett.
This was my first time hearing this band and I hate to admit I’ve never been to a Buffett concert (I know that’s a prerequisite to being a true Floridian) but Stowe’s island music soothed my soul. Their music whispers in your ear, “Sit back, relax, let me transport you to a carefree time where life is easy and the wind blows a gentle breeze on your face. Come dance with me under the stars and watch the moonrise in the sky. Remember, life is meant to be enjoyed.”
Stowe and his band opened with “Volcano” but it wasn’t until they played “Brown Eyed Girl” that the party started bringing couples out to dance.
From there the tempo kept rising. Stowe played “We are the People” and “A Pirate Looks at Forty” for those dedicated parrotheads, but it wasn’t just parrotheads that enjoy Stowe’s music. Stowe engages with the audience bringing the show to a more personal level. That’s part of his appeal. The band played all the crowd favorites from “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes”, “Cheeseburger in Paradise” and “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere”.
In a time where people never have enough time to do the things they want it’s wonderful to take a few hours and renourish your body. Not quiet as good as a vacation but it worked for me.
Nearly 2,000 people attended the “Summer Music Series” concert held recently at the Mizner Park Amphitheater, and featuring Jimmy Stowe and the Stowaways. It was a tribute to Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefers Band. Emily Lilly, community resources and affairs specialist, says Stowe “is always a crowd favorite and it was wonderful to see entire families attending - as well as the local membership group of Parrotheads.”

Stowe & the Stowaways were the most recent installment
in the city's Summer Music in the Park series, and the Jimmy
Buffett tribute band played to a packed house this past
Friday at the Mizner Park Amphitheater.
As I approached, I could hear them belting out "Volcano," and I was fairly impressed by the rendition. I have been to a few Buffett concerts, and this band sounded nearly identical to the floral-shirt clad Florida crooner...

behalf of Donald Trump and the Mar-a-Lago Club members,
I want to take this opportunity to express to you what I
have heard being discussed after the last several events.
Members have repeatedly asked me what band had been playing
during the dinner hour. They have told me that they welcomed
the change and enjoyed the music. That is obvious in the
way that the dance floor fills.
Having worked with you for the past several seasons, I appreciate your professionalism and that of your band members. Your versatility in being able to tailor your musical format to a specific theme is important for each event!
Again this year, we will close the season schedule of events with a Beach Boys concert on March 27. We look forward to having your band perform poolside during the dinner hours. With your help, this will be another great event! Best wishes for continued success.
